did is a way some children cope with trauma. if someone at a young age experiences something so horrific that they can't comprehend what's happening, the brain creates alters do deal with the aftermath. i think in the real world, you have to have at least 3 alters for it to be considered DID but it's just really intense in general. the brain is incredibly powerful in how it works and how it also protects the body. you can think of this like a piece of glass breaking and now those fragments are each individual pieces that live in one body. each fragment is unique and serves a different purpose in how it protects the host.
your brain latches on to certain characters you've seen in life and starts to emulate them because the brain thinks these characters can better understand/cope with what the body is experiencing. i know it might be a hard concept to understand, but it's definitely real.
in this story, i obviously think something bad happened to han taeoh, and as a result, this alter han taejun is a way for taeoh to deal with certain stressors in life.... i'm not sure if the author will have other alters or if it's just taejun. OR I could be completely wrong about everything and look stupid lol
