It is because she wants to run away from her oppressive family which wants to marry her off soon. And Tang clan don't even teach anything to girls except simple martial arts. So after seeing our Yu iseol she wants to be like her ad decides to join them

@Dumpling dumb Thats a bad excuse for her to join tho. If she was from any other clan sure but the tang clan's assassination techniques and poison techniques are more fitting for women. Lighter and more flexible bodies, yin energy, and the famous honey trap make women better than men in terms of assassination techniques
