I think the people in thr comment forgot that MC was in love with ML to thr point of stalking him daily. ML turned out to be thr not so perfect junior but a gangster which scares MC but didn't out the fire in his heart for him. ML as bad as he's been to MC hitting him a few times and all the threats. He has been far more nicer to MC that the bad things and if we as reader are honest ML appears to be the one who genuinely cares and worries for MC along with the aunt. From the very beginning ML has showed to care for MC even through the threats and anger. He gets angry when MC lies and hid things as anyone would. MC included just that he doesn't hit or threatened anyone just yell, cries and runaway. ML is definitely hot and cold but you can tell from thr start that he cares for MC. Just shows it differently but then again he his a gangster.
