Under South Korean law, there is actually a provision specifically covering this kind of situation. Civil Act Article 761 says that if someone unavoidably causes damage while protecting themselves from another person’s unlawful act, they generally aren’t liable for that damage. It also applies when damage is unavoidably caused to avert an imminent danger. So no, you don't need to pay with your body, just show camera proof. I hate these type of scenarios
