Richard is so f**g badass + goofy in the novel but here he's just a goofball 🥀 I like that he acts insane sometimes but where are the badass scenes 🥀
Like this every scene, he gets SO MAD about being nearly assualted by a man that he kills all the slave traders out of seer rage, questioning why he didn't do this before instead, and he doesn't guide the slaves out of their cells afterwards, he yells at them to get lost after they beg him for mercy.
AND he wears a hood to hide his identity and is STILL mad about having to deal with the masked man (crown prince).
AND when Enoch is the only one left, he tells him to get lost to his kingdom and turns around without saying anything more. Enoch figures out his identity by himself, pulls his hood down and tells him that he knew Richard wasn't just an ordinary slave and had likings of a noble, questions him what he wanted from him— his body, his status or his power, since every noble from this kingdom who approached him wanted him for his body.
AND THEN Richard tells him that all he wants from Enoch is to get back to his kingdom, live so happily that he never thinks of coming back here. MIND YOU he's STILL frustrated from dealing with the crown prince as masked man and there are NO mentions of him smilling or blushing at Enoch, just him speaking kindly to Enoch and his eyes shining as he tells him to go away and never come back.
I get that the artist needs to make some changes to fit the scenes in one chapter but like these changes are taking things AWAY from his character and I don't like that 💔 he was rightfully upset about him nearly being SAed in the novel but here it's just brushed off as sumn comedic 🥹
