He wants Dan to stop and say by his side but can bring himself to beg/ask for it because once he asked his mom the same she abandoned him in the verbally crueltist way. Since then on he never beg for someone or something but at the same time he wish Dan understand what he is feeling is not "angry" but "hurt" over the fact that he (Dan) is leaving him
