I feel like Denji is so heavily miss-characterized. People see him as ho*** but he's obviously traumatized and this mental breakdown proves it. Denji doesn't want s** he wants interpersonal relationships, he want genuine mutual care between himself and others.

This is shown when Makima first met Denji, Makima knew this due to thier meeting and takes advantage of it. She says so herself. To Denji Makima was the very first person that seemed to care about him, she also promised sexual acts to him. Denji putting his finger in his mouth here is a direct reference to when Makima did the same to him right at the start. This proves that at the end of the day Makima is the root cause of his association of genuine affection and s**.

Every single woman in this manga took advantage of that relation in denjis mind caused by Makima. The only one who didn't(well kinda) is Power. Thier relationship started out with Power promising Denji to touch her bo*** if he did smth for her, later they actually get close without any sexual acts being involved. That's probably the reason Makima killed her, she can't have Denji think he can gain affection without s** for her sake.
I get lost on the internet a lot so I read everything and anything.
All my faves are being dropped

@DancingDuck  Another thing is when Denji touched Powers bo*** he felt nothing. Most likely because Denji didn't associate the act of touching powers bo*** with genuine affection as though Power was grateful towards Denji they weren't close or friends yet. Also would make sense and to why he liked when Makima did things to him as he thought Makima genuinely cares.

That's why when Aki dies, one of the few people Denji felt genuine care and emotion for dies he goes to Makima who in his eyes genuinely cares for him. Even in his breakdown he does the finger thing still finding comfort in the actions Makima did to him, in her care for him.

At the end of the day Denji is a teenager groomed by Makima and either taken advantage of or assaulted by every other woman in his life. His associations are deeply affecting him in ways he doesn't want them to, he's traumatized.
@DancingDuck i love how you can genuinely interpret his actions
