@DQueen26 yeah... same sacrifice, different circumstance but still, Sasha is sentenced to firing squad. Since he already realized how much Karel sacrificed for him, he quantified it to be equivalent to offering his life for Karel's happiness which is so sad... Remember also that the news is received late by Karel so maybe 😭😭😭
