Okay I think I have a theory why he likes feeling pain ask the author shows from his screen "stockholm syndrome"he might have a backstory where he was abused by his dad(or someone in the past) physically when he was little where he see that as a way of his dad that shows love so he grown up to always like the pain that way during s** or sport activities etc
