I’m not sure how to start this, but I need to say it.

Over the past year, hatred and racism against Indians have been rising worldwide. Yes, there are real issues like lack of civic sense, harassment to foreign women, over the top patriotism abroad. Its turned into memes, there's people protesting against the right of indians to live in their country, visible discrimination of indians in public areas. So many reasons to hate an entire country and its people.

I read about a young Indian girl in ireland/iceland (please correct me if im wrong) being attacked by teenagers just because she was Indian. Stories like this are heartbreaking and frightening.

I’m ashamed of those who behave badly, its outright disgusting to say the least. But im also really scared. Im a student hoping to study abroad, but all these things happening make me feel that the world is less safe for people like me.

@boing If you want to study abroad, do it. Remember that there's more good people than bad...

And the world has always been a bad and an unsfe place for ppl of colour, Indian people are not the first. It's a pity that you are only starting to notice this when the people who are exposed to such discrimination are your people...

Racism will always be a thing...
You are proof of "you will never understand something until  you(?) experience it ".
@boing yup, its like blaming USA for the old crimes commited by East India Company
@boing if she follows islam then they aint welcome, simple as. the west and islam do not mix, they cannot mix. anyone that knows anything about islam understands why they migrate to western countries, to take over and everyone is tired of it.
