@eva that's not the reason he protected her. It literally showed last week's chapter that he wanted to go to Thalia he was literally running to her WITH OPEN ARMS. His curse is the reason he was forced to go to Ayla instead. It's not because she's his fiance it is because he is cursed he wanted to go to THALIA
