Just realised the “formulas” Deborah developed are for arithmetic and geometric sequences, which suggests that magic in this world is a repeating pattern and I assume that magicians use the ‘a’ which is the first term of the sequence and ‘d’ (the difference in arithmetic sequence) or ‘r’ (the ratio or multiplier) and then use the sum of the sequence to perform their spells, I assume that previously they calculated the sum by adding it up in their heads but with the formula the addition becomes easier.
