I Think that, the ability to manipulate Chronos magic to see into the future comes with immense consequences, which is why his mother's healing power was necessary.

no that's not the power it has for him but the 3 powers he get are

First, he can manipulate time for himself and move at very fast speed. His techniques take fractions of time to activate and its so fast.
✕Second, he can manipulate the time for an attack or a space or a specific thing. Like when an opponent attacks from his blind spot and he notices too late he can stop time for that particular space and get aside before releasing it again
Third, he can rewind time briefly. Its not like regression but if he takes a sudden fatal hit he can rewind time to before receiving that attack
Well all these powers are broken but here's the catch. These powers consume massive amounts of system karma points so he can't use them whenever he wants to

Actually there are three things
First of all his mother was direct bloodline of agamemnon family, a family who's closely tied to ancient magical relics and tools so her bloodline helped her to prevent immediate penalty. If it were any normal mage they would've died instantly due to lifeforce being sucked away for using the power of chronos, the god of time
Secondly, unlike zeke who used it in middle of battles and changed things on massive levels directly by himself, his mother never directly intervened in things and didn't change things too much. She would just peek to gather information and then she would make necessary arrangements through dawn society which she made to make the future a little advantageous bit by bit
Thirdly, she wasn't entirely immune either. Using that power was eating away at her lifeforce little by little and that's the reason she was sick and died early when zeke was still so young. Her penalty was delayed due to various factors and was slowed down alot but she wasn't entirely immune
