@Kuquburra mm honestly can't remember if her father hit her, but from my perspective her father just ignored her 🤷♂️ and I know people react differently but I can't sympathize with her over that if that's the case.

I can though, so it's not a reach for me to comment as I have. But I think that you can't walk in her shoes unless she's physically being abused.
The father neglected that kid, the only time he gave her any attention was to condemn, belittle, scold, humiliate, blame or as you said ignore.
If I was working in that kind of environment I'd either quit or complain, but a lil kid doesn't have that option... So you might think she would love her bro who shows such love towards her, instead its the opposite. It doesn't help that he's annoying or being unhelpful, if anything he's only highlighting how shi*** her life is in comparison.
