@Takashi Personally I wouldn't want to get on a gods bad side by accepting two or more who may be enemies, plus there are bad gods or ones that could change his species like the vampire and like he said skills are useless if he has no affinity for them. Then there's the chance that he could lose the opportunity for better offers.
