This manhua covers surprisingly serious topics and I'm so proud of it for that. Our queen is clearly suffering from body dysmorohia and a potential eating disorder. I've only seen this portrayed this well in one other manhua, despite sooooo many women (and men tbh) dealing with this. A lot of other stories always treat this storyline like "I was fat before but now I've transmigrated and I'm perfect!" And it's like... no. First of all, imo she was great before, it's okay to not be stick thin. You're a worthwhile person no matter what. He**, she would've been worthwhile and amazing even if she had been fatter.

But also, if you hate yourself, that doesn't go away, even if you magically change bodies. It's a persistent part of mental illness that requires a lot of therapy to treat. I'm glad that her love for Blanche seems to be helping her snap out of it, and realize how toxic this standard is. hopefully she can break this toxic cycle

@Alex M I love how it covers how these things can be passed onto the next generation, whether it's intended to or not. She a healthy sized beautiful woman says one (hypocritical) sentence about dieting for herself. Despite everything she said and did previously to prevent that sort of attitude being ingrained in the kids mind ,  but that one sentence sticks, because she's also seen and heard that attitude elsewhere. That one moment could start a young child developing an unhealthy relationship with food and a negative body image.
She loves her, and takes on board everything because she knows that person loves her back. Horrifying as her mother's initial thoughts about dieting her are, they're not born from malicious intent.Instead they're from a place of insecurity and almost protection, as she doesn't want her daughter to go through what she is. It's good that she snaps herself  out of it and realizes the harm she's about to cause.
@Alex M yes. All this. Also, it's wonderful how it manages to cover the part where healing is not a straight forward path, and how ingrained mentaal processes are not something that you can snap out off at once even aftrr you realize the way of thinking is flawed
