It's not the first gift of her life.  I'm positive that the clothing she is wearing was gifted since slaves don't generally wear something that fine.

@Black reapers Oh... So you agree that it wasn't her first gift.
@Prinzinc there's a difference
It'd the intention behind
One as a sacrifice
The other as ....
@Black reapers

So, you still agree that it wasn't her first gift.

It's just bad writing.  You can probably explain it away if you put enough energy in, but the writer could have done a much better job so it wouldn't require so much work on your part.

When a character makes such a flat statement that's obviously not true, the writer is generally either:

1) Setting up for it to be discussed later.

2) Set up the character to lie previously.

3) Didn't realize they made a writing mistake due to [insert reasons].

If the writer makes their audience's eyebrows rise because a character obviously lies but nothing comes from it, they are just training their audience that their writing lacks nuance, consideration and depth.  Then later, when the audience misses some key thing a character hinted at earlier, the audience is annoyed because they've gotten used to the lazy writing style otherwise they probably would have noticed sooner.  Generally speaking, it's easy to gloss over stuff like this when it's a comedy but when it's supposed to be serious the writer doesn't have as much leeway to be careless.

@Prinzinc that's a cloth of sacrificing to eat by tiger means don't have special but horror purpose
@Mark Bueno I mean, a gift is a gift, regardless of good or evil intention.  It is something of value (inherent or otherwise) freely given without cost.  I really don't understand the complaints here from the "actually bro..." crowd where everyone agrees that it wasn't her first gift but still somehow wants to disagree with things that I didn't actually say.
@Mark Bueno Lol bruh why are you guys arguing with an idiot?
@Prinzinc why can't you understand that it's not given as a gift in the first place
@Prinzinc a gift is something given without expecting a return. In this case, the gift was not free.  The payment was her life,  therefore it is not a gift. Things given to a slave aren't gifts, because the slave has no belongings, they are all owned by the slaves owner.
