@BlueStar-Fujoshi 🤭 I totally agree. The age gaps back then were ridiculous, there were 40 some-odd year-old men marrying 15-17 year-old girls and no-one batted an eyelash. 
My oldest sister and her husband are 11yrs apart, but he waited until she was of an appropriate age to date before he pursued her and he is such a gentleman!
