I guess that the husband is this kind of guy who first ignores his wife and child and when they leave him he'll do anything to bring them back. I mean it's nice, but I am kind of tired of this trope - take care of your beloved ones from the beginning, not when they want to leave you and never come back.

@CrazyMel He only went there because he saw a 'Duke' was getting close to his daughter and wife. If there was no other man, he would've just sent a letter to Leah and not bother with going to them. It's pathetic really, like a child who didn't appreciate his toys but won't let another kid play with them.
