@XMLrm he only did it because Etman made Layla cry. Which is a grave sin, since Matthias is the only one allowed to make her cry. With this he'll have more leverage over FL for "whatever he's planning." Wink, wink. Nudge, nudge.
@Elena Mirea i'm also a novel reader so it doesn't matter to me, but why would you mark something as a spoiler when all it says is "don't want to say more because it's a spoiler" 😭 you didn't even spoil anything
My memory isn't always great, but what I remember from the Novel, is how Matthias is going to get married and force Layla to be his mistress. And will still treat her like a toy, because he isn't aware of what love truly means. His life was supposed to be perfect but because of her is not, and he is tormented because he doesn't know what to do what he's feeling. It will take a long way and lots of tears shed for him to realise he's in love with Layla. At some point, I remember, Layla being pregnant and him begging her to eat, because he did something to someone she cared and was she protesting, by not eating. I remember his inner monolog, how he was devastated seeing her like that. She was lying to him about the pregnancy, about how the child is not his, but he knew better. At the end, I remember, him going to War, and Layla being left behind taking care of their child, obviously at this point he was divorced and married to Layla (not 100% sure). Then there's this "picture" of Layla playing outside in the park with their son, and him coming back and being reunited. So a happy ending
