Absolutely not!
And that's jealousy, not love.
That's pettiness and entitlement at loosing something he thought he was owed.
Honestly these last two chapters make it even worse. He knew 100% she loved him from the beginning. He agreed to the match.
Look he was kid but what I'm saying is he wasn't forced. If he said no it would have ended then and there. Their parents checked that the kids were ok with it.He even said that a couple should love each other. Well he didn't even bother trying to get to know her.
So for ten years he has strung her along, knowing he didn't care for her or respect her, let alone love her. He treated her like dirt, when he could have ended it at any time if he really hated it.
Instead he wasted ten years of her life.
Ten years where someone who actually did care about her was forced to stand back.
Now he wants her to waste more of her life on him? Knowing the engagement makes her unhappy. That she wants to leave, to have a happier life. Maybe start a family before it's too late. One she could have had, if someone hadn't used her as a buffer against being married elsewhere. Make no mistake he has benefited from the arrangement or he wouldn't have kept it.
He has had ten years of second chances.
His is the attitude of a child who only wants the toy when it's being taken away.
