They now live in their own country without needing any relationship with the kingdom, meaning what happen in the kingdom doesn't concern them (and they are all mad there).
If what happen in the kingdom is unrelated to them, there is no more plot, only lovey-dovey.
To be fair I would have like a few chapter like in Raeliana post end (read it if you don't !), and explore a bit more the wolf thing and the time travel.
I too would have I like more, but the story logically end the moment they claim independency and that is legaly acceptable.
