Ruby is having a meal with her family and Liam. She still hates vegetables, especially bell peppers, so she gives them to Liam, who eats them easily. The adults comment on her habits, but she ignores them and changes the topic. Ruby mentions a children’s competition at the Green Festival, and even though others don’t care much, she becomes interested when she remembers the prize is a limited-edition hero card. Ruby decides she wants to join the contest no matter what. She tries to get Liam to join too, but he refuses because he isn’t interested. She admires how effortlessly he eats vegetables and jokes around with him and Void.

Sir Leon arrives with urgent news that the Duchess has gone missing on her way back. Ruby is shocked and drops her fork, but the others seem strangely used to this kind of situation. Plans are quickly made to search for the Duchess, and Void leaves to help. Liam finishes eating and leaves quietly. Ruby is left confused, wondering why everyone else seems so calm about such a serious problem. Ruby is at home alone while Duke and some knights went to find a missing Duchess, and even her grandfather left. Her dad also went out after checking many times if she would be okay alone. Ruby is happy to finally have the house to herself.
