Comment on ChapterTears on a Withered Flower - Chapter 103

chapter 4 said "poverty does quietly devour people"

at time, I thought it was an uncommon reality check for a story like that, but it really was to set the "mood" for the story and what the focus is

i shall now consume this instead of food 𓂃 ࣪˖ ִֶָ𐀔

@no sleep club No. The focus is that he sold out his family, and instead of taking responsibility, he threw Na under the bus to avoid it. He could have worked hard and protected her, but he chose to sacrifice her for his "friend's" well-being. Poverty wasnt forced on him. He chose it.

In the end, the poverty he inflicted devoured HER.
Not him.
@CocoManga I wasn't talking about minsht, but the fact that poverty is the main theme of the story. So far, we had many chapters and situations that involved that theme. The choices the characters make is up to them, but you can't ignore how poverty was already a huge weight on them from the jump. Before meeting him, she was already poor, living with a broke and toxic family. That's why she started living with him in the first place. That's also why she is/was so emotionally attached to him, like so many women in abusive relationships irl. Maybe it's because I'm poor and the struggle ressonates with me, but so far this focus has been the most interesting part about this story. Also quite refreshing after reading so many "reincarned as the duke's daughter" manwhas.
