I hate when a MC is portrayed as a "useless loser" where everyone just knows who he is, nearby city lord and guild leader just know everything about him, while everyone still knows him as the loser.
I'd get if those high up (lord and guild leader) would be like "Oh you're the guy that destroyed the dungeon?" and one of their lackeys whispers something, most likely their opinion and rumor and then the lord can gloat like "ah so must have been a lie"
I find Authors just seem to want to give infinite knowledge to scum so they can provoke the MC, the case of the Elf makes sense since she was a S-Rank and cursed so that's a easy public know-how, but MC is just the local loser.
