He acts like it’s no big deal afterward, which annoys her even more. In the car, they keep up their bickering and she acts distant, he casually holds her hand, and they both pretend not to care while clearly caring a lot 🤭 Later, they argue again about picking her up after work. She sarcastically lists all the things a “good boyfriend” should do, basically calling him out. He just tells her to shut up, but it’s obvious he’s not actually mad.
At work, Shuyi is busy but still in a good mood. There’s some light office banter, and she jokes about needing her boyfriend’s permission for something. After work, she texts Shi Yan hinting that she wants flowers and surprisingly, he actually shows up to pick her up. On the way to the airport, she pretends he’s just a taxi driver because he didn’t bring flowers (or so she thinks). He plays along, even joking about the fare. But then he tells her to look in the back seat, and there’s a box with roses. She gets all soft and happy, clearly touched.
They almost have a romantic moment in the car but it gets interrupted by her friend calling, freaking out about seeing a celebrity at the airport. Shuyi immediately ditches the moment and rushes out to go see the celebrity, leaving Shi Yan behind along with the flowers he just gave her 😂
