@xinny i think the reason they get ears is because it's to show of like their personality. It happens in most chinese manhuas but also like korean ones and some others. E.g. A guy is trying to convince their lover to go somewhere and pulls out the puppy eye card. The author might draw them with puppy ears, tail, and shining eyeballs. So i think it's js to show of their personality a bit if that makes sense
