In my 6 years of bl reading I have never came across mentally unstable people like all of you I understand the ml is hot and all but don't y'all get that you are all reading straight up r*e unless y'all like that s*t (end it) bro ts makes me so mad the art style is genuinely so good dude like can they rewrite everything I'll actually forget swear yk what maybe the author will they'll realize how horrible this whole story is with no plot and they'll realize they deserve more we deserve a true love story that'll be incredible
@Gang bang If you don't f**g like it, guess what? Don't read it. There are plenty of other genres that might suit your taste. But stop bothering other people who are trying to enjoy it!
Of course you can criticize something if you think it's worth criticizing but trying to say people into believing it's wrong to enjoy these type of stories, just reveals how much of a spoilsport you are. I actually had so many discussions over time with people telling me how wrong my morals supposedly are just because I enjoy reading Manhwas with toxic dynamics. Well, I don't know if you can understand that but liking a trope doesn't exactly mean that you support that same behavior in real life. This really isn't rocket science.
Don't get me wrong, I don't mean to romanticize these characters because obviously I don't support, duh. But trying to convince me and the rest otherwise and telling me I do so only because I read it, makes me so f*cking mad. I mean, what the heck? Nobody watches a documentary about serial killers and suddenly thinks "oh, I support murder now".
And it's obvious many people like exactly that kind of trope in Manhwas, otherwise it wouldn't be as popular or never heard of supply and demand??? Therefore, it has a right to exist.
I'm just tired of people trying to ruin the fun for others (including me) just because they can't differentiate between fiction and real life.
@Rip_Batoto_myshayla i dont think the story is bad but, i think they are talking about how people are romanticizing all the stuff the ml did like its nk big deal, like you can clearly see how jiwook is traumatized and stuff and people think is cute. Of course is just fiction but like isnt it weird for people to like watching r*e and saying they would love it, its a literal crime
@Rip_Batoto_myshayla This is actually an interesting point you've brought up and I'd like to bring in some nuance without shaming. You brought up documentaries and you did that without fully understanding documentaries as a medium and how this manhwa differs. A documentary is written in a specific style with a specific narrative intention. It's basically a reteling series of events. A good documentary has all information available that isn't incorrect or speculative to give a sort of unbiased and non morally charged "this is what happened and why".
This stories intention is very different, the most obvious being that it's for entertainment. This isn't me saying entertainment must always be morally righteous and unbiased, that basically the death of the arts as a whole. It does however prevent the usage of the documentary argument, the mediums main purpose and style is simply far to different to compare the two as if they're equals.
The second argument is actually about how people work. Humans are actually incredibly bad at compartmentalizing, it's the science behind our empathetic capabilities which are what make us apex predators. Humanities evolution is entirely based on how we understand eachother and that ability extends even to the world of fiction. It's why you cry when your fav characters dies, ur head knows they aren't real but the feelings of grief are as real as real can be.
It's why we must be extra conscious of fiction we consume as our brain very easily bleeds it into reality. It's why therapists are so against heavily using dark humor, the constant joking normalizes the idea in your head and the right trigger makes it not a joke anymore. The same applies here. Constant consumption of such fiction will eventually normalize the idea in your head and the chances of you noticing it are low due to how gradual this process is. You would have to be constantly and consciously reminding yourself not to do so which is
1. Something I don't think most readers are doing and
2. Difficult to do as humans aren't particularly designed to do so
So the critique of entertainment media with such content shouldn't disappear, if anything we need it more now than ever with the increase of younger generations becoming netizens at younger ages than ever before. Careless handling and normalization of sensitive topics always has and always will be a bad thing.
Wether consumers are commiting a moral failure is a case to case situation, and in this case that argument isn't the point of my comment
@layezn no exactly I responded but my comments kept getting deleted which is crazy because this story is straight up disgusting like I said the art style is beautiful and I don't judge people who are curious because I am a curious cat myself I clearly stated in my comment PPL WHO ENJOY IT just so yk this person tried so hard to convince me this story isn't bad "you won't criticize people into believing it's wrong" It is wrong everyone knows it she knows it or he or they they know it this story leads to πβπ¦Ίπ and π they won't go up to a person in public or anyone close and recommend this manhwa because it's wrong
@Gang bang and they had the nerve to compare it to police cams and documentaries like what the h*l they're acc fucked up in the head and ppl agreeing with her actually enjoying the story LIKE ENJOYING THE STORY I understand you're curious but ENJOYING THE STORY? the ML is handsome yes the MC is handsome yes BUT YOU'RE ENJOYING THIS? this is straight up π NO PLOT NO NOTHING. Just revenge π like are we serious Documentaries ARE NOT the same as this. Whenever we watch the crime we shame the person who committed the crime not enjoy it. We don't enjoy seeing the crimes committed we watch horrified with empathy they're f**g disgusting
@emilia Im sorry but that was actually on the meaner side...just say shes a weird person for enjoying things like this (In any case i could hardly give a s*t cuz wow, look, we r also here, reading smth we criticize and have a burning hate for, after all, there is only two reasons imo ppl r still reading this, 1, they enjoy it or, 2, they are curious to how it unfolds, for me its 2 obviously but i like just one aspect in this story and thats revenge, tho its pretty exagerated by the ML and i cant really seem to see it as that anymore.)
