@Blank   definitely faking it. He's so calm and well collected to himself. That's not all the way he acts and he smile it's really suspicious. My guess is that he doesn't want her to divorce him for some unknown reasons and he's rich so maybe he paid the doctor to tell  that he have amnesia he**! He may even pay the whole hospital for this play.
