And the authors write stories for us to understand the characters and judge them obviously! Writings are the bigger picture of society and here and there this type of infidelity is going on . Many people have witnessed this type hellish thing happening.
They can't or aren't able to voice them out as of now so they can read , write and like or dislike. It's totally their own personal feelings. Not everyone has to meet expectations just like the story!
