@Chris I dunno if he came from an Earth, but if they had public libraries, they likely had some form of organization, hopefully similar to the Dewey Decimal System.

The power of a Dewey Decimal-type system is its flexibility. They had the Library of Congress system at the colleges I went to, and it's very rigid. When computers were invented, they had to shoehorn in a whole new category for them; with DDS, the computer books were able to fit in an existing category.

@Galactic Navy Officer I've heard that smoe libraries didn't have catalogus. It was pretty random. Either by date or author. Just group together in piles on the floor. Often times it was hard to find subjects of similar fields together
