so originally, i had read spoilers on how the reason why penelope was being treated like sh** was because the entire family was under a spell by yvonne, the ‘real daughter’. for some reason, i had come to the conclusion that the duchy would be inevitably forgiven for their abuse, which is partly true, but not how i envisioned. i think it’s because the abusive family or significant other is always excused in one way or the other, when it comes to otome isekai. I only know this much🤧
