I am a weirdo yes, tho I didn't really like the beginning either at 1st. Now tho after reading all the released episodes (up to 153)..

..I think that the beginning is such a core plot point. Like it's not just a way to get the mcs to meet, just to be forgiven and forgotten later. It is discussed and aknowledged many times troughtout the story and the relationship between the characters would be vastly different without it.
The SA, r*pe and blackmail is never justified in the story either which is good, Takamada is ashamed of his own actions even in the latest chapters
