@Deep In The Wet Sand I think it's not that Jo is hiding something, but that he wants to take advantage of the fact that TJ isn't with Ian now (“I’m not sure when it started, but am I being possessive? I can’t definitely say it’s pure.”) Joseph decided to pretend to be a good guy who he really is not (No, I’m not as kind as you think I am...”).

@amortentia I don't think he's necessarily pretending to be a good person, I think he just knows from his past that we haven't seen yet that he's not as good as people thinks he is but he's trying to not be like that anymore, so not pretending, just trying to be better
