The story improves gradually as it goes on—expanding into broader plots, deeper conspiracies, and a larger cast of characters, with more humor mixed in to ease the tension. The MC also has to actively find ways to grow stronger in order to deal with the villains.
All it really asks is some patience to get past the slightly dull early chapters.
