Well some of you are gonna disagree with me on this but I think that Eunho should take the lead in clearing up these misunderstandings. Ji Hyeon is really trying to reel himself in this time. He's creating boundaries even though he yearns for Eunho. He's suffering but he doesn't want Eunho to pull away again. I agree that he made mistakes in the past but I'd say he's doing a pretty good job of redeeming himself rn. He is dense, that much is clear. He feels and he feels a lot but he doesn't know how to name it. Maybe he doesn't realise that he can like a man. He's been straight so far so I can understand that. Eunho himself admits that Ji Hyeon's actions prove that they are not just friends and that he likes him too but he wants to wait for him to figure it out all by himself. I think if Eunho gives him a push in the right direction then this miscommunication can be resolved faster. Things can't get worse than they already are rn so what's the harm in it? Just say "I like you, do you?" or something 😭

@YutaKujosimp I will disagree purely on the point that it's MCs responsibility to clear this up - it's not. At this moment he of course knows that what they have can't be put in the definition of friendship, but it doesn't mean that it's romantic either. If you look at it from mcs perspective - JH sees him as his one and ONLY pillar of support, that's incredibly unhealthy and daunting for the receiving side, like a parent to a child. That's why he says "I can't be your only one" - you need other support systems. Cause if you see that support system leave you will do anything to stop them, including going in a direction that will satisfy mcs desires even if jh is not comfortable with that yet. Mc stood on his business - not sleeping in his house even tho JH begged, separate work/life between them and etc. He created boundaries that JH was constantly trying to cross without even knowing why and throwing a tantrum when it didn't work. He needs this time and space apart from MC, him finally respecting boundaries is not because he suddenly understands their importance as default, it's because MC finally snapped and JH is scared that it will fully drive him away.
I read the novel, they will redeem himself of course and I love their progress, but it's going exactly how it needs to go
@Miola I never said that it's mc's responsibility. I just thought that mc's more emotionally intelligent than ml so if he does take the lead then things might resolve faster. It's definitely not a responsibility though. What I said came from a place of love for this story. Seeing them hurting like this breaks my heart. The angst is seriously getting to me. Since you're a novel reader and have a deeper understanding of the story, I'll take your word for it that it's going how it needs to go 🫶 Hoping there'll be progress soon though 😭
@YutaKujosimp oh there will be progress for sure, for both of them, mc is not perfect in his emotions too, so they both needed that distance
But yeah, the resolution of that angst is going to be sooo rewarding (◡ ω ◡)
