@justasnail he's emotionally repressed so he doesn't totally mean that. He wants her to join him so they can "use" each other to exact vengeance on the world or whatever. He feels a sense of kinship with her, bc of their similar circumstances, which is why he's particularly disappointed at her refusal.

So not exactly love, but probably the closest his emotionally constipated a** got to love. In that timeline, at least
