For this story to be one of those women in power novels, it sucks at its job. Him appearing out of nowhere for her to confess her feelings while being attacked is completely idiotic. If they truly wanted to show her smarts, they would have had her completely escape before doing something that makes them vulnerable to attacks. "Yes, let me put my face in his even though we were just attacked. They ran away and there's no way possible for there to be more or for them to have a route to surround and kill me." For a tribe that would do anything for money it is hard to believe they would run away just because someone protected the target. No. They would obviously attack both people with the goal to kill. Don't even get me started on how they wouldn't bother to tie them up and torture them. A true nomadic tribe would do the mission then move to a new area to avoid being targeted. Even if they wanted to play with her they wouldn't keep her in the same area and the would've killed the other one already.
