I still don't understand why he's referred to as illegitimate since his mother was married to the previous duke as a second wife so how is he illegitimate his just the second wife's son so he's very much legitimate right
@Angel Can't you read? His mother is the second WIFE. Edhar's mother was taken for the sole purpose of making an heir, it would be pointless if her child were illegitimate. Edhar is legitimate, the people who have an issue with his existence are just conveniently revising circumstances after the fact.
@Lala He's the previous Duke's son but he wasn't recognized as legitimate as he's the son of the second wife. (It was explained that the previous Duke didn't want a second wife but was forced to due to the pressure of having an heir since they thought the duchess was infertile cause she wasn't able to get pregnant after a few years of marriage. It was also stated that the previous Duke and Duchess were in love so their son was spoiled and the Second wife bearing a son was a threat to the first son's succession. The only reason why his mother was allowed to carry to term was there was a possibility that the Previous Duchess' child would be born a girl.)
