@ann this literally isint about the r*pe it's about how it's handled. I don't care how angsty an author wants to be, if they cannot handle such a serious topic properly when it's something that affects millions of people globally don't write it. R*pe is not something to be sexualised and DEFINITELY NOT something to be fetishised. Same way as you can touch on serious topics like p*dophilia in media without showing in detail r*pe of a child by an adult because that is flat out uncalled for, unasked for and blatantly rude to victims and this is coming from somebody who was an SA victim. I respect that the author wants to include more serious topics in this and I do not mind it. I do not respect the way they are handled and portrayed so far because no amount of wanting "angst" justifies  dedicating a chapter to a fetishy r*pe scene. People are not mad about the r*pe itself they're mad about the way it's handled and it is handled extremely poorly because there is no and I mean NO need whatsoever to show every detail and every closeup of it. And if anyone believes there is then please I'd love to hear the explanation of why the shot of a s*x toy bei g pulled out of his a** is needed. What does the closeup of the p*netration add to the storyline. Unless someone can give me a solid reason why secenes like those where necessary for this chapter and why without those scenes this chapter would have somehow lost its message then I stand by my point. The scene is handled poorly, and that's why people don't like it.
