I asked this yesterday but I know what MC and ML means but sometimes I see it is BL's like they write both is one comment so do they like refer to the bottom or top or is it just coincidence that I'm seeing it a lo but they mean the same person?????

@Cake mc is the person's story we r reading his pov and ml is there love intrest........ like if u have read painter's of the night there nakyum(bottom) is the mc seungho(top) is ml

In case of straight manhwa ( romance )
MC is female and ml is male
In case of shonen ( action or other genre )

@Lilin Completely wrong. Read for instance Bocchi na bokura no renai jijou or I''S (as well countless other series) : the MC is MALE and the fl is the love interest.
