so from previous chapters, the lady who slapped the mulde guy was suspicious of mulde sponsoring children all of a sudden when the family was on the verge of bankruptcy.
this also came up in roan's deduction now.
according to her, someone is framing her family (Argen) for treason to divide the royal family and Argen so someone else can take the Crown Prince's Chamberlain position.
Chamberlain here is the person who controls/maintains a royal's house like a steward AND the royal's representative. It is a very vital role in their world especially that of the Crown Prince since he is the heir. Chamberlain can have the freedom to control the funds and the owner's opinion of everything.
To Roan, the candidates: South (argen) - wth why frame themselves? North (hazentsu) - the candidate has lots of ideas and does not want to be chamberlain plus hazentsu and argen have joint projects so why frame their colleague? East (Baldwin) and West (Dunley) - They are chartruse's friends/faction. why be chamberlain to check argen? chartruse is friends with argen. so no. Northwest (Almert) - Is linked to Chartruse's poisoning in the first season. they are lying low so no chamberlain even if they are nominated.
Leaving... East (Mulde) - they were supposed to be powerless and penniless but lo and behold they can do things now. baron Emilio forza (the guy Roan was talking to before who gifted her family a stunning boat = he loaded) is connected to Mulde by financing them thus controlling Mulde to take the Chamberlain position and be their puppet.
Remember the famous singer that looks like Rose? so the song that she sang during the boat party is kinda famous but the lyrics are suspicious, like spreading conspiracy that argen would challenge the imperial.. since the song is raking its popularity, it has brought the attention of the people if its true or not. So, the emperor send chartruse to argen as an inspector to investigate about it
The reason the imperial is finding a chamberlain is to replace the previous chamberlain who is the mastermind that try to kill chartuse in season 1.. well, he dead obviously, so need replacement, and duke argen is the most auitable candidate but to avoid people saying it's unfair and bias, that's why the duke came back to the south.
