I feel the confusion of others in the comments, but it isn't about him being part of theor blood, that they have to kill to lessen rivals, or things, but HE knows something that the need, hence came the torturer, if not there won't be a need for her, and yes, they would stay there wether they like it or not, their lives are tied there, and as much as we can deny it, but some government officials are tied in that too, don't expect for police and legal organisations to save you, they will detain you, and take your child.
