I know I’ll receive a lot of hate, but Derrick is my favorite male lead, even though I ship Penelope with Callisto.

I really love Derrick, truly, I like him a lot. He’s a good guy—you just don’t realize it. He’s simply overshadowed by everything that happens; people only see him as the evil older brother. But do you know how hard it is to have that role? All the pressure of being an heir. And not only that—having the responsibility of a little sister, losing her, and then when she comes back, she manipulates and brainwashes you.

Even when he was being manipulated, we saw that he didn’t just give in, that he resisted. But of course he didn’t succeed—do you really think you would have managed in his place? On the contrary, that’s what makes him more real, more human.

But people only see what they want to see. You decided to make him the villain. I love him, that’s it. I just want all the misunderstandings between them to disappear, and above all for Penelope and him to reconcile and become good brother and sister again.

Sorry my English is not really good

@VaguedelOuest we hate him not for this but for him having romantic feelings for penelope since it is weird and disgusting. Do you remember when ekeles brought Yvonne? When penelope was angry at ekeles he was loving it romantically

@VaguedelOuest That not even why I hate Derrick because let be honest both brothers are trash and they have been trash for a long time but at least when Reyold changed he didn't go back to his old way and the only time he did when when he was brainwashed, with him immediately snapping out of it and apoligising but with Derrick he will change a bit and go back to his old ways giving her hope that maybe they can move forward and he doesn't have any faith in her. During the hunting festival that she was accused of trying to kill the prince he had no faith in her what so ever, he didn't even ask how she was or her side of the story he just look at her like he always did with the look of being a burden. That is why I hate because he never give the og or this Penelope a chance.
@VaguedelOuest I like the way you see him but still, i hate him 😅  (but i ll be a little sad if he s really dead. Just a little...)
My favorite character from the begining is Reynold, even though i ship Peneloppe with Kalisto from his first appearence 😉
@VaguedelOuest no, that's wrong. We don't hate him because of him being evil, we hate him because he has feelings for his own little sister. Not normal romantic feelings, but he wanted Penelope to stay in the palace, do nothing but sit and listen. That's what Derrick wanted. That's also why he had that bird who had the same color as Penelope's hair. The bird was caged, right? That's how he wants Penelope to be. Also, Derrick not only has feelings for Penelope, he also pushed every single problem on Penelope, without even listening to her side of story. He made her to a villain.
@VaguedelOuest he romantically loves his sister
He's sexually attracted to his sister
@Lalakill they aren't related tf ? Yes adoptee that doesn't mean it's biologically related
@sanumiiu Yeah yeah yeah the bird part was so weird. It was so out of context and came out of nowhere. I think that this part was very poorly integrated into the story, which naturally makes us start to hate him. So yes, that doesn’t excuse it—the author chose to make him that way. In fact, that’s exactly what I said in the previous episode: Derrick really, really disappoints me… I find it such a shame.
@Dead_Doll do u think it's just about being biologically related
They were raised together from childhood as siblings
@Lalakill yes I do, it's NOT INCEST. its still bad but just because you're raised together doesn't mean you're family. Also back in those times they adopted young girls in preparation for MARRIAGE to their sons.
