@Daisy G** you can't expect that Je-Oh will be some perfect human being after all he went through. Despite being lonely and hurt, he actually cares about Seong-Rok and tries to make him see that they can stop being lonely if they are together and team up, he just needs to let go of that he** of a woman. There's genuinely no reason for you to say he's no better, when he most definitely is. At least TRY and take the time to understand complex characters of the sh** you're reading
@Mich i nvr expected him to be a perfect human being, and I don't mind how he acts around others too - bcoz those make sense and he has every reason to be like that. He is definitely a complex character - it's not about understanding him and it's not about how much someone have gone through...The way he acted around the ml was just not so logical and it's just double standard. Like of course he is better than that girl bcoz of his intention to help the ml...but he is really so similar to that girl too - that's what I meant. Both of them are complex characters who has suffered their whole life and wanna live a better life now...and they both used innocent ppl. In the future chapter, even the mc sold out many innocent ppl in that dirty business and forced them to work in that place. He was becoming just like her and so he became traumatized bcoz he was becoming one of them just to get on the top - just like her - so I wasn't really wrong. The difference is that he realized how he was taking a wrong way and change while she didn't. Bcoz he is the mc, of course he can't act like a villain~ I am just tired of the double standard in this fandom. You should love a character for who they are, you don't need to justify or sugarcoat them to love them.
@Daisy I do love and appreciate his character for who he is, meanwhile you keep pointing out your dislike towards him, knowing why he is the way he is. Just because both him and the woman tried to get to the top no matter what it takes, doesn't mean one can't be genuinely evil unlike the other. The constant problem in this story has always been mainly her. Not Je-Oh, but her. It's not double standards, it's logic. She ordered Seong-Rok to kill Je-Oh for absolutely no reason - not a single benefit, she hired men to ra** him and kill him repeatedly, tried to destroy him in the worst way possible and destroy what he had built with his lover. They are two different characters, just with a similiar past. All this time she has been looking for a way to destroy the mc and ml, while they were trying to find a way to be free. That pretty much sums up the kind of a person she is.
@Mich I like the mc so much now too, I just didn't used to like some sides of him which were really annoying. But I love him now...he is a badass I love it. And obviously she is a trash, and she has many things for which she deserved to be punished as u said. I am talking about these previous initial chapters, where both of their goal and way to do things were almost same...I am talking about those certain actions. And it's not just me, even the mc himself admitted that he was becoming like her, he really wanted to exploit others to get on top too. But he didn't, bcoz he realized and repented and bcoz he is still a good guy inside. But their initial actions plans were almost alike...what I am saying is that if the action is same, it doesn't matter who did it- you all should hate both for the same action, instead of taking one side. I am not talking about all the horrible things she did in the future~ I am only talking about till this chapter here.
