So, this is what I've gathered thus far:
It all started when Muni, a servant boy, was brought in to serve the Young Master who had a habit of sleeping with his personal male servants. They often left after he did the deed to them. Thus they (his family and other servants)wanted someone who was strong-willed enough to stay by the Young Master's side. Muni was just that. Muni fell in love with his Master and followed him around despite how cruel and aloof the master was to him. This prevented the Young Master from sleeping with whom he wanted to and whatnot, so he devised a plan to get rid of him. All in that time there's a serpent that can revive the dead and take the form of a corpse lurking around in the mountains. The people dug a hole to capture the serpent. The Young Master led Muni to the hole and left him in it. Rain fell, so he almost drowned. By the time the Young Master sent his men to help Muni, it was too late. Because of this incident, Muni was Comatose. During that time, the young Master started to like Muni while he was in a coma and hired a shaman to revive him using the snake. However, he wanted to mold Muni to his desires, so he split his soul into two. This backfired and alot of ppl died along with Muni and the serpent. Not giving up, the Young Master had the shaman cast a spell to entwine his fate with Muni and have them both reincarnate.
Fast forward to the present where the MC is an office worker. The serpent who was the modified version of Muni wandered around in ghost form looking for the Young Master's reincarnation and found it. ML and MC reunited and serpent Muni was not happy, so he manipulated ML's mind into hating MC and having him show affection to the twink from the first chapter who collapsed. However, ML's will takes over every once in a while, and serpent Muni realises that he isn't strong enough to completely control ML. So, he starts feeding on twink's life force to get more power. The bookmark from the first chapter carries serpent Muni's soul and thus it has to stay with whoever the serpent is sucking dry. But MC keeps popping up and ruining everything. Thus leads to serpent Muni and Young Master sleeping with MC. One for gratification while the other to scare him and take his life force.
Plot twists:
MC and Manager are reincarnations of Muni and Young Master.
MC is the other half of Muni. He has multiple spirits entangled with his when they died in the ritual.
Young Master still doesn't truly love MC, just the idea of him.
The other half of Muni is inside him but just dormant and they had made a pact to have the reincarnation not remember the past. Which MC broke and Muni was not happy about it.
