Actually i didn't finish  the novel it kept getting worse also i needed to buy chapters to finish but I'll tell what i know... Even at the end when they are about to graduate he doesn't get any better.. 

The protagonist jun wanted to take revenge with the other new right hand guy of the ml and old follower of the MC's old crush but he still told the truth to ml at the end and ml beat the sh! Outta that guy and framed another dude for it.. 

Also the mc was totally manipulated by ml about his family hating him cause his family didn't found out he was gay he told them himself in front of their whole family he wasn't abused but he felt neglected , which doesn't make sense actually because the novel was fan translated there are things i couldn't make sense out of might be eng not being my first language too ig. 
This whole manipulation thing wasn't totally confirmed but implied it's truth cause mls whole family said that with a few proofs

I do recall the ml being drunk and waiting in front of mc's house for very long. Mc newly hired maid tells him about it (it was night time) he tells her not to bother and go back to sleep. Then he opens the door. Mc wanting not to talk to ml but mlkept trying to talk mc brings up about how he lied about his family matters and all the ml goes on about how hes not loved actually and they are same and should be looking out for each other or smth
