I’m sorry but in my opinion, if you are with someone who has a kid, if you eat food at the table with the kid, if you play toys and games with the kid and if you also know that that kid lost their mother at a young age and most likely- well actually sees you as a motherly figure- that is your kid. Blood or not. That’s is your kin.
I know it might be uncomfortable because you aren’t really ready to be a parent but…Telling a little boy who you’ve been acting motherly with that he should call you “ma’am” because “it’s easier for you and less awkward for me” is to me- is actually insane, especially when he literally just got so comfortable around you to the point he was able to call you mom. Like at this point you’re playing with his feelings.
