If you mean just having a middle or high school relationship, then it's not the same once you're older. Find connections and relationships where you can, and not just the romantic kind. None of them can last forever. Some last much longer than others, but there's always a last time sadly.
The fantasy stories are fun to explore, but I recommend against measuring connections that are actually within your reach against them. I won't BS you can pretend they're all worth it either though. Just consider whether you've really exhausted every approach available to find something you want.
