@Galactic Navy Officer   I'm not into it either however it's a magical world with magical rules so it might not be a big deal like it is in our world.  Either that, or he's somehow not actually related.  The mom and sister's reactions are strange and everyone else seems to know something that the MC doesn't know about this so I'm leaning towards it somehow not being an issue in this world like it is in ours.

@B P (Ult1m4) I read a manga where the genetics were flipped, so people preferred to marry their immediate relatives over anyone further unrelated (I don't remember the name, but the identifying characteristic is that MC made strange totems).  Since it's fantasy, sometimes you just have to sit back and enjoy the 8-arm bartenders and aliens who are only nice to you when they are angry (or angry at you when they are being nice).
@Prinzinc I remember that one. The MC had a lot of physical weakness for a vague illness-related reason, and his sister was very, very, very yandere.

An interesting detail was they believed close marriage made them stronger, but there was no direct evidence it did.

Hmm... good point.  I gave up the story because once I got past the point where the author was mostly done talking about those things, I found the rest of the story boring.  The comments section was far more interesting than the story itself, lol.
@Prinzinc Oh! Wtf?! I remember that manga!!! Wasn't that axed? That was such a freaking weird manga story from the beginning to the end...
